Without any further ado I’ve decided release #thexaneleshorts pattern out into the world today

It’s the most beautiful sunny winters day in Cape Town and my appendages have defrosted enough for me to take more photos for #thexaneleshorts pattern release (next week hopefully) and to spam you with another decapitated picture of me, as if one wasn’t enough for one weekend.

I’m jumping right back into #thexaneleshorts and hoping (possibly optimistically) to release the pattern next week. This pattern was just about ready for release in early February but then I had the amazing opportunity to work with Peppermint magazine and so I put it on the back burner for the past 4 months. A major hurdle for me in releasing these now is the fact that we are in the depths of an exceptionally freezing winter in Cape Town and wearing / photographing shorts is rather unpleasant! I tried convincing many people to model for me but was unsuccessful in doing so… can’t say that I blame them. I did manage to take a few photos this morning but lost all feeling in my fingers so decided to wait for it to warm up a little bit.

As a general rule I try to not post anything in my feed unless I have managed to properly read through and respond to all the comments on my previous post. At this rate however, with the busyness and business of life my Instagram may become dormant for a year or two. Anyway I’m not sure if the same rules apply when sharing someone else’s makes as I just took some screenshots and didn’t have to personally go through the discomfort (physical as it is freezing in Cape Town at the moment, as well as mental because I don’t love taking photos of myself).

This #peppermintpaddingtontop by @timetosew is just magical, and that it was made out of a repurposed table cloth makes it even more so!

I just love this #peppermintpaddingtontop made by @mindfully_making ! I posted a similar one in my stories a while back (scroll to the 3rd slide) and then she went and made one just like it when testing for me 😍. Ive been so lucky to have Siska on my testing team for the past few patterns that I’ve developed / am still developing (that shorts pattern is still coming I promise), and I’ve got to say that interacting with / developing friendships with pattern testers is one of the most rewarding parts of the pattern making process.
