The Fleetwood Dress Tester Roundup

I have no words to express how lucky I count myself to have had these incredible women on my testing team. This pattern would be all mismatched notches and nonsensical instructions were it not for them!

Also a special shout out to my mom who, not only tested for me by sewing two different sizes, but also did some very tedious notch-checking in multiple sizes, as well as spending many hours entertaining my kids so that I could get this pattern done amidst the crazy busyness that was 2020!

Please note: Some testers added pockets to their dresses – this is not included in the pattern, but a tutorial with sewalong will be coming soon!)

Katie | @katilulemakes

I love my Fleetwood dress . I made size D with 5cm added to the length of both skirt tiers but no other mods. It came together like a dream

Emily | @replicatethendeviate

My favourite parts about this pattern are the color blocking options! That the tiers are not gathered at the side seam and the overall design and feel!!

Sandra | @stummel

” This is already one of my favourites and I am absolutely delighted with the fit and style. It is the perfect blend of modern and romantic, of teadress and shirtdress. This is Size F with added length of 3” to both panels, though took a bit off the bottom one after. Thanks Sarah for this pattern, it will be a TNT favourite for me! “

 Kirrily | @kirrily_b

“I love it. It is very flattering and allows a fair few “personalisations”.

Tracy| @twbstrbmaking

“The pattern was great to work with. This is a straight size C, View A with no mods. I would have graded to size D on waist and hips, but don’t need to with this design. This was a really fun project and I definitely want to make a plaid flannel version for winter”.

Becky @sew_becky

” It really is a great pattern. I love it.

Madeline @madeline

“Really cute pattern!!”

Tania @tania.ho

” I absolutely love my new dress . This is size D in tencel twill fabric. I added 5 cm to bottom skirt tier, and also inseam pockets. I made one size larger than my usual because I wanted a looser fit, and I think it worked wel It really is a great pattern. I love it.

Chloe @no.idle.hands

“I can’t say enough how much I LOVE this pattern!!! All your patterns have been ace but this one is out of the league! I’ve sewn many shirt dresses and this one is by far the most fun to sew! No collar/stand/double yoke, yet the finish is so clean and neat. Genius!! Just WOW.”

Angela @justsewfabricated

Kathleen @ksgirlsews

“I made View A using a deadstock 90s rayon and it’s A LOT of floral. But I love the swishy skirt and loved styling with boots and pink sneakers..

Sarah @a.little.quiet

“This is a really great pattern and I love the dress. It is just what I wanted for a fall dress.

Lee @quarteracreblock

The way you have written your pattern made the construction do effortless – I mean it has gathering – and it’s such a frustrating thing to do, yet I’ve gone back to do more. I have to tell you my daughter said this was the best pattern I’ve ever got” .

Kay

I absolutely love it. Such an enjoyable make.”

Belinda @belindasewscapetown

“I sewed View A and lengthened the tiers for my daughters friend @jennaskead to wear to a wedding, and she looked beautiful. For myself I sewed the dropped-waist view (B), but added on the tiered skirt (top tier also lengthened by 10cm), and I love how it turned out!”

Chloe @lekaffeeklatsch

The fit is spot on! I sewed directly size B and it fits perfectly (the style is quite loose so…) I used a rayon I had in my stash for ages and it is perfect for cooler days! I can’t tell you enough how I admire the work of Sarah :her instruction are very clear and the pattern itself is another hit! I love how modern and romantic the dress is. Easy to wear but elegant

Chanelle @desdoigtsdecha

The skirt’s width is total perfection. – The waist is high just like I like. – And the bust’s cut are really cute and give freedom to mix and match fabrics…I can hardly wait to wear my beloved dress a full day”
