#theastairtee is now available in my Etsy store. It’s just a humble t-shirt but is a pattern that I drafted approximately 8 years ago, versions of which I have worn consistently up until now. This considered, I figured it has been a pretty useful addition to my wardrobe, and hopefully some of you will feel the same way. I really hoped to release a lot more patterns this year, but life happened and it seems like 2019 will only end up be the year of t-shirts, something that I am gradually making my peace with. Life is pretty crazy at the moment and, amongst a whole bunch of other personal stuff, I’m moving home in September so I think I need to take a little hiatus from making patterns until next year. This really bums me out, but on a positive note, I hope that this means that I will have a little more time for recreational sewing and engaging with the community. Oh yeah, also I see I hit 15k followers at some point this weekend (what?!?!?) so as a little thank you all my patterns are 15% off until the end of the month. I’m a few days away from releasing my new T-shirt pattern and I finally dredged up the wherewithal to take some photos (my least favorite part of this process) so I thought I would share one of them in which i am wearing my recently completed #landerpants by @truebias, with fly expansion. These I made from fabric (Bedford Cord I think it is) that I have had in my stash for probably almost a decade. Just popping in... it’s been a while. Wearing one of my most recent makes - a modified #toastersweater (one of many that I have sewed up this winter). I really like to sew this pattern in a rib knit as I prefer the neck to drape a little rather than stand up as it does with stiffer fabrics. Hot of my overlocker - a @grainlinestudio #lindensweatshirt . I didn’t plan on sewing anything yesterday but, at the end of an exhausting Saturday I decided to ‘just cut the pattern out and thread my machine’ but, before I knew it was was complete, and I ❤️ it. For the life of me I could not freaking stripe match those raglan sleeves - much to the dismay of my perfectionist tendencies, so I modified them slightly by using the wrong side of the fabric (totally not something I would usually do) to create the navy colour blocking. Day 23 of #memademay (whoa, where did May go?!?) and I’m not wearing anything exciting, but I am finally feeling a whole lot better after being sick all week so I thought I would pop in and participate before it’s over! I had such high hopes for productivity for 2019 and here we are, almost halfway through the year, and I feel I have accomplished nothing. I’ve been kinda despondent of late after shelving the pattern that I had been working on since February. I have been toying with taking a hiatus from pattern making , I just feel like between my job and parenting the twins I can’t get anything done and I have no time to sew for fun anymore. I miss having a creative outlet sometimes.
